Fresh Start has been developed to help owners of long term empty dwellings wishing to sell their property.
Research suggests that bringing empty homes back into use helps to improve local areas and reduces the need for green field site development. It also means that properties are released back into the private sector (as owner occupied or let dwellings), helping to resolve issues of homelessness and overcrowding within the Borough.
Fresh Start will be used as an additional tool to help Charnwood Borough Council combat the problem of long term empty dwellings in the Borough. The scheme will give empty property owners the opportunity to advertise their property for sale free of charge. Developers and investment buyers will also be able to register their details on this website.
Who can use Fresh Start to sell their empty property?
If your property has been receiving a Council Tax empty property discount for 6 months or more then you will be able to use Fresh Start.
Landlords who have registered with our site can use the Property Registration Form to post new properties for inclusion in the listing.
